Playing summer ball for Swash was an awesome experience. I was able to play with some of the best players in Florida. This improved my game and allowed me to build friendships with a great group of guys. Coach Bolger went above and beyond in my recruiting process which played an instrumental role in me getting into MIT. I would recommend Swash to anyone who has the ambition of playing at the next level.
You'll receive world-class coaching, positional instruction, great tournament play, college placement assistance and support from a Club Coach that the College coaches respect and listen to all for one reasonable fee!
Each high school aged swashbuckler player is assessed by Coach Bolger and the staff to determine the player’s college aspirations, goals and grades. Armed with this information the staff can then make an accurate assessment of what he sees on the field and then attempts to match it up with the player’s goals. Sometimes it means a player is suited to play D I. Other times a player’s true potential is better suited to the D II or III level of college Lacrosse. A player’s drive and determination to play at the next level also factor into this analysis by our staff as well as grades and performance on standardized testing. Each factor has a role to play but Coach Bolger and his staff will always give an honest assessment of the player's potential to play at the next level.
The placement process then moves into the next stage where the Swashbuckler players are given a chance to demonstrate their skills on the field at the various Summer Recruiting Tournaments. These tournaments are hand picked by the Swash staff to give every player his shot to perform in front of actual college Coaches. Post Tournament is when the critical contacts the Swash staff has at the next level come into play. Any interest shown by College Coaches towards a Swash player is handled by Coach Bolger and his staff one-on-one with the College Coaches, the players and their parents. Once our staff has made the introduction between the player and the interested college Coach it becomes the responsibility of the player and his family to make the critical follow through necessary to win a spot at the next level. This involves getting good grades, testing out well on standardized testing, sending transcripts to schools on a timely basis and setting up school visitations and playing at special invitation school specific tournaments. Coach Bolger is always there at every step of the way to provide help and advice throughout the recruiting process.
In the end, the successful recruiting and placement in large part depends on the willingness of the individual player himself to work very hard to get in shape, be coachable, get good to great grades and then perform when the time comes on the field of play. This combined with the proven contacts of Coach Bolger and his staff is the surest way to someday slip on the uniform and be a college lacrosse player.
